Managing personal finance is often overwhelming, especially for people who are just starting out or juggling busy schedules. Monee is a mobile application designed to help individuals gain better control over their finances by tracking expenses, managing budgets, and building healthier money habits. This case study outlines the design process from user research to final UI, focusing on intuitive interactions, user needs, and simplicity.
Many individuals struggle to stay aware of their spending habits and often find it difficult to manage their daily expenses. Most financial apps in the market are either too complex or lack personalization. Users want a quick and simple solution that doesn't overwhelm them with features but still empowers them to understand their financial behavior.
Log daily spending quickly
View and analyze monthly expense summaries
Categorize expenses effectively
Set basic budgets or limits
Gain a better sense of financial awareness
The main purpose of creating this user flow was to develop an easily accessible app that aligns with the project goals while ensuring the steps the users need to process are simple and minimizing the time users need to spend using it without clicking needlessly for elderly persons or those who are unfamiliar with digital devices.
This phase focused on translating core financial needs into clear, usable flows for the Monee finance tracker app. Key screens such as transaction history, upcoming subscriptions, income insights, and expense analysis were iteratively designed from wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes. Emphasis was placed on readability, visual hierarchy, and making financial information easy to scan and interpret.
